Abdominal wall hernia
An abdominal hernia, or abdominal wall hernia, occurs when a piece of tissue or organ pushes through a weak spot in the abdominal wall (the muscle that lines the abdominal cavity). The abdominal wall is made up of different layers of tissue and muscle, and weakening of any part of this wall can lead to the protrusion, bulging, or herniation of the viscera inside the abdomen.
But any specific symptoms in this area should be evaluated by an internist or general surgeon.
